David is the founder and Managing Director of the practice and jointly leads the design and management of all the projects in the studio throughout the process. David has over 30 years’ experience in large scale office and workplace schemes in Central London, including Moorgate Exchange and 150 Cheapside, and 4 Victoria Street, business and technology parks, research buildings at Melbourn Science Park Cambridge, Farnborough, Windmill Hill and Solent Business Parks and mixed use and urban regeneration projects and masterplans. David leads our office and workplace design and mixed-use developments and masterplans. He believes in maximising the opportunities and adding value to developments over and above a project brief. His ability to work alongside various stakeholders on major schemes is noteworthy. David’s career has been shaped by the pursuit of designing buildings of timeless elegance.
Prior to establishing the practice in 2010, David was a main board director and a design leader at Michael Aukett Architects, and Carey Jones, and was responsible for designing some of their most notable buildings. He also spent several years working in Norway on commercial, civic and airport projects. He has also designed projects in Central Europe, Russia the United States, India and the Middle East.
David trained at Portsmouth Polytechnic where he received First Class Honours, Distinction in his Diploma and won an RIBA/AIA Residency Scholarship to the University of Texas. David served as a judge for The British Council for Offices Annual Awards from 2007-2009. He is also a Fellow of The Chartered Society of Designers, has been placed in a number of architectural competitions and his work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and RIBA Galleries.
